About this game
You Are Standing is a compact Z-code work by Aaron A. Reed, created as a bonus game for the 50 Years of Text Games Ultimate Collector's Edition.
The piece moves through several eras of text-game style while staying small enough for vintage-friendly distribution. This TerpVault starter package uses generated placeholder artwork and curator-created helper notes; the bundled story file remains the original game artifact.

This is a curator-created TerpVault helper note, not official documentation from the author.
Type commands into the interpreter and press Enter. Useful parser commands include:

The game intentionally moves through different styles of text interaction. If the prompt or available actions seem to change, treat that as part of the design and read each new screen closely.

General approach
Read each section as its own small text-game mode. The work is interested in how commands, prompts, and expectations change over time, so a command that made sense in one section may not be the right model for the next.
When stuck
Try the basics first: LOOK, EXAMINE, checking inventory, rereading the current prompt, and paying attention to any instructions the current section gives you.
